I baked today. One of my favourtie hobbies is cooking and baking. There is something about taking a bunch of raw ingrediants and blending them together and creating something tasty.
I must admit that I am a dab hand at muffins and cupcakes especially blueberry muffins and carrot cake cupcakes but my specialities are Baked Luscious Lemon Cheesecake, Lemon Meringue Pie and assorted quiches.
When I go out on a photowalk with Nottingham Flickr Group I always take along a few tasty treats for our coffee break. I think I spoil them all but its one of the things I like to do. Usually I take 3 flasks of boiling water and a small one of cold milk, teabags, instant coffee and hot chocolate mix along with my baked goodies.
For our trip to Foxton Locks last year I made Red Velvet with vanilla icing decorated with Chocolate and Red White & Blue Sugar Balls, Lemon and Blackberry Muffins with Strawberry Frosting and Red White and BLue Sugar Balls and White Chocolate Stars, Carrot Cake with Vanilla Frosting and Red White and Blue Sugar Balls, Chocolate cheesecake tartlets and Carrot Cake Muffins with Vanilla Frosting and Chocolate shavings and Chocolate Sugar Balls. They all went down a treat along with the hot chocolate, tea and coffee.


Today I baked a ham, cheese and red and yellow bell pepper quich and Tomato, ham and mozerella tarte.
The tarte was tasty but the flaky puff pastry soaked up too much of the tomato so it was a bit limp, oh well it was a first try but the quiche came our superb as usual. I doubt I will get any of the quiche as my hubby will no doubt pig out on it for his tea tomorrow night.
Now tea is over I can settle down to the second part of NCIS two parter Engaged.
