I Just Take Pictures

As totally dippy as I am, my brain was totally disengaged and has been for the last few months never making the connection as I wandered around the city centre trying to find some photographic inspiration yesterday to some of the tweets and shared posts in Facebook from one of my photography friends, whom it turns out is the organiser!

Lee you should have hit me over the head with it just so I took more notice.

SOooo there I was wandering around and I noticed someone dressed in a uniform from Stargate. WHAT! Oh, take a quick peek around to see if something is going off. You don’t often see people walking around in black BDU’s carrying P90s except the police armed response units. Then I saw the Star Wars Storm Trooper. OK so what’s happening here.

What was happening was members of The UK Garrison a science fiction costuming group, dressed as a Storm trooper, a Tie Fighter Pilot and a Imperial Officer from Star Wars and 2 SGC personal from Stargate were seen parading around Old Market Square yesterday afternoon. They were taking part in a launch event for the East Midlands Sci-fi and Fantasy Convention. Apparantly I am one of only a few people to recognise the Stargate uniforms as many others though they were from Star Wars.

YES! NOTTINGHAM IS GETTING A SCI FI CONVENTION!!! Em-Con!

OH WOW! OMG, 16 March 2014 Nottingham Albert Hall. Right, that’s it, I’m going, I’m going, I’ve never been to one before.
