Top of the bronze statue in Hucknall erected by Ashfield District Council to commemorate the people who worked at the Hucknall No2 Colliery from 1866 unitl 1986 and the 'lost' mining industry. Unveiled 25 June 2005. Created by Graham Ibbeson M.A (R.C.A).
The statue is seen on the way from Hucknall tram and railway station into the town. The main figure is on top of a Davy lamp, whilst another collier is depicted hewing coal 'inside' the lamp 'glass'
