Hi there. These are stunning photos! I had to 'friend' you. I've seen your images on the [livejournal.com profile] lj_photofile journal and absolutely love them. I hope I haven't been too forward in friending your personal journal as well.

Of course not, not too forward at all.

All new friends are very welcome and I am so pleased that my photographs have made an impression on you or have made a connection to you.

I love to share my view of the world with people and this is the medium I have found to be comfortable with and have an ability with.

Welcome to my Flist

The center piece looks so perfect, like a picture postcard. :-)

Thank you I am glad you liked it

There I was stood on the banks of the Derwent with my little Nikon D60 and my tripod and on the bridge next to me were a load of professional photographers with their gadgets and meters trying to capture the same thing as I for the Chatsworth competition.

The last photo is absolutely spectacular. I just love how you caught reflection and all the colour. :))

Thank you. I had taken it just after a mid afternoon thunderstorm and the lighting was spectacular. I still had the camera at ISO400 and an ND4 filter. I find the colours become more intense with the filters

It looks like you are far more experienced photographer than me. I know about filters' existence but I've never tried them yet. There is soooo many to learn, you know. :))

I just know that the ND filters take glare off the image much like a pair of sunglasses will do. The higher number the filter the darker the filter and the brighter the light you can also look at

for instance I stacked my ND2, ND4 and ND8 together on my camera and was able to take a direct photo of the sun at mid day

I would recomment a UV filter on your camera at all times or a skylight filter. they dont do a lot but they do protect your camera lens
