What a Difference a Year Makes.

Doesn't time fly and really it hardly seems five minutes since Christmas and the New Year. So imagine my surprise when I realised that on 6 February 2013 it will be one year since I finally found the courage to begin a journal. I have never really been forthcoming into revealing my deepest thoughts or feelings I usually end up rambling on and in general feeling like I have made a prize fool of myself.
Hey, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ME!!!
Think I can do my happy dance? do do do do, do do do do, do do dodo, do do. LMAO
I am not a writer or artist but, one of the things I could however contribute was my photographs and also little bits and pieces of me. So yes this site works exactly as I had hoped it would. (hmmm I wonder how in what way this may have changed me as a person as a whole?)
OK so what got the ball rolling was the “Introduction” yep, right. My first entry 8 February 2012. Yes I know it took me two days to actually post something *Hiding face with major blush in evidence*
Well for one thing the weather hasn’t changed all that much. It’s snowing, again here and the cold is biting. I think this is the third major snowfall we have had hit us since the New Year. I only hope that the weather this year is better than that we experienced last year. Well at least the water companies cannot threaten water shortages but they can inflict price increases again.
My first photographic post I was really so proud of these photographs as they were pretty recent at that time. I have since used them as icons. I will admit that I have been lucky with my photography but I can’t boast being an expert, but I try. I still have a lot to discover with the hobby. I have friends whose photography is absolutely amazing and only count myself lucky they like mine too but really, the Flickr Nottingham group has some magical photographs.
One thing I can’t do, and that is to pick one particular photograph of mine that is my favourite throughout the year. I am too indecisive. Can you imagine how difficult I can be just picking two or three images for my group exhibitions? There have been one or two that have affected me and I am amazed that I had taken them. (Modest much???)
I will say however, that I will never, ever, ever, ever, EVER, photograph a wedding again! No way!! No how! *whimper* location, lighting, no one standing still, KIDS! *Groan*. Aching feet and feeling like a trussed up turkey in high heels and frock and not comfortable in any way. *Sniff sniff*.
OK so on the positive side, £100 was a bonus, and my sister made a fabulous video of my images although I still cringe at them. But at least the happy couple liked them no matter how critical I was and how bad I thought my work was.
*Groan at entry*. (is this waffle actually making any sense to everyone?)
I can't believe I have made journal 581 entries including this one since then. How the hell did that happen?
HUH!
Yes, well… (Considering going and hiding in the cupboard at the back of the accounts office for a month or two)
One of the fulfilling things about my year on LiveJournal is my connection to my f-list. I have made some wonderful friends on this site some whom I had followed for quite a while with their stories, tales and chronicles. There are quite a few but rather than mention you individually (ok yes I am a little lazy but I am still having trouble with html) I never commented or thanked you for your hard work that I read prior to me joining LJ. Since joining I have been able to read your wonderful work and interact with you, so, Thank You, everyone.
Another rewarding aspect is how I have interacted with members on this journal. I have had some amazing conversations with people on here and have loved every minute. I have also received the most awesome feedback for my photography from you all and it has made such a difference to me and the boost to my confidence. You really are a great bunch of people and I am proud to have been connected even in this minor way to you all.
I can’t promise to get any better with my photography but I will promise to continue to share it with you all and hope you receive a little pleasure from it as I look forward to receiving the pleasure from all your wonderful work.
Here is to the next year.
