These ones are tame and live in the arboretum like the ducks the parrots the swans the other birds in the avery the waterfowl. In winter they have trouble finding food. They are do funny full of antics and great subject to photograph

Besides DH fans are known as squirrels

(hangs head)

Here in the states, we (or, at least, my dad) engages in war with the squirrels. They are enemies of the land, aiding and abetting the racoons, whom we are also at war with. Our enemies are to be shown no mercy, nor should their European cousins.

We dont have racoons or chipmunks and we dont have much trouble from them. Kids love them in these parks. In a way for some kids its one of the closest things to the wild.

I sometimes get to see foxes and hedgehogs but then my suburb is closer to the countryside than where this squirrel lives.

The arboretum is in the city centre so they are used to people

Theyre cute too

Oh, I really like the contrast of the colors of the squirrel in the snow and how it is picked up again in the leaves coming through the powder--very nice!

I thought of you today - went to wood with son, sister and niece and the birds are VERY friendly...and so were the squirrels, one of which shot up son's leg. Seeing a six foot, 19 uear old guy scream was funny :-)

I used to have one crawl up my leg and rummage in my pocket for nuts and jump from arm to arm.

19 year old boys always act like 12 year old girls dont they...
