Date: 2013-01-04 05:16 pm (UTC)Word of warning though--I haven't figured out how to load original pix without having to resize them first before I put them on flickr or photobucket. You can resize things on LJ after you've uploaded but before you post. DW doesn't seem to have that option.
Coding is based on LJ's but is just different enough that it gives me problems from time to time. I usually have to switch to html mode to see how something is coded if I want to try and repeat that effort somewhere else. :-)
You can set it up to cross post to LJ, however, which is a nice feature. LJ won't let you do that. And you can import your LJ journal over there too, so you'll have all your previous posts up. If you want to import more than 15 icons, however, you have to buy a paid DW account.
At first I kept forgetting to post there, but now I post *from* there and can respond to comments at either location. There aren't as many coms and I find it much quieter than LJ. Honestly, I think it would have done okay if everyone hadn't moved to tumblr instead of DW...

Date: 2013-01-05 08:20 pm (UTC)If you don't have a paid DW account, you can only import 15 icons--but if you have a paid account, they should import your journal and pictures, etc. You have to click on some choices, but basically my DW account mirrors my LJ, and now that I (mostly) cross post from DW, the content is duplicated. :-)

Date: 2013-01-05 11:59 am (UTC)My only bugbear with DW is trying to get a paid account. They got bounced from Paypal and other places because they wouldn't censor themselves and certain people complained, so I think a credit card is necessary. That's why I've yet to make a full switch, that and some of my favourite comms are over there.
