Birthday love

I want to thank everyone who made my wedding anniversary on Tuesday and birthday, yesterday so special: my family, friends and colleagues.

I booked the last two days off work so I could enjoy them and relax. I spent time with my family and out in the sun with my camera although inspiration didn’t strike unfortunately but they were good days. The only drawback was my allergies, yesterday was terrible for my hay fever with the trees budding and blossoming, but at least the anti-histamines worked although they make me a little drowsy but at least they don’t make me hyper verging on high like my last lot did.

I received some wonderful personal messages from you, my dear, dear friends from LJ popkin16 wild7orchid tarlanx debris_k calico_pye.

I also received a wonderful dancing Tigger from sgamadison a gorgeous cake from daisychain1957 and some beautiful flowers from selenic76.

I have some brilliant virtual gifts from aadarshinah who sent me some lovely tulips and aqualegia who sent me some presents.

Also I am a very lucky girl because ami_ven will be writing a 300 word drabble of the pairing or genre my choice for me. Thank you sweetie, I can’t wait.

But not only from my friends here on LJ but on Facebook but also a few Twitter messages too, like the wave I received from David Hewlett in sun drenched Cannes (Although I had to be cheeky enough to as for it).

Thank you all so much my dear, treasured friends, thank you for your good wishes, and support, they mean a lot to me.

Back to work blues

It looks like half my work offices are under quarantine since Michael has brought in a Cold/Flu virus on Monday. Here in the accounts, Sam and Cameron are spluttering away, June is practically coughing up a lung and Treena escaped with a couple of days off.

In Sales, John as usual has caught the bug and passed it on to Simon. Fortunately Laura and Suzy have yet to succumb to the cold although Leigh and Neil and the new guy (who I have yet to be introduced to whose name I believe is Darren?) seem fine for the moment. I think David and Andy in Stock are restricting their access as much as possible to the upstairs offices so are Paul and Jack although Jack is on nights this week so he has escaped so far.

So, I come back to work after a few days off and everyone is feeling very sorry for themselves.

And here I am hoping that I don’t compound my hay fever with a cold. It’s bad enough with the sneezing and stuffed sinuses but I don’t want to develop the cough everyone has.

Even with viruses and coughs and sneezes, everyone enjoyed cake. No one is too sick for cake. Comfort food! My cheesecake, lemon drizzle cake and chocolate, nut & cherry brownies went down a treat and I even had people asking for more.

What fun eh?

Nope I don't think I have escaped the dreaded lurgy!
