Happy Mothers Day

Today is Mothering Sunday in the United Kingdom, so Happy Mothers Day to all mothers out there whether you are in the UK or elsewhere.

Today was bittersweet for myself and my husband as my mother in law had a bad turn yesterday. About a year ago she suffered what we think now was a mild stroke after her health had been poor for a while then during the summer she had another. Since then she has been extremely poorly and at time very confused, not recognising people or thinking they are someone else. She is now bed ridden and very listless.

Yesterday she became very confused, mumbling and weak, we thought another stroke as the symptons were similar. We rushed her to the hospital but after being examined was sent home again. Although she has been eating her electrolites were low and needed a boost.

Personally, I think she needs hospital care until she is a little better but the hospital say they can not help her, besides there are not enough beds to admit her.

I just want her to get better

Oh, I'm sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. It's impossible to predict strokes, so I can imagine it must be very frustrating for you to be under permanent pressure. I wish she would recover somehow. *hugs*

Oh so sorry to hear about your mother-in-law's poor health condition. This is really frustrating when doctors refuse to keep her in hospital "because there are no beds to admit her". If this is the case, shouldn't they take her to a different hospital where there are vacant beds because it's an emergency?
I'm sure you're doing your best for her. May she recover soon.

Sorry to hear about your mother-in-law. I don't know, maybe it's just me and dealing with my mother and her health, when people reach a certain age, I just don't think hospitals want to deal all that much with them.
Hopefully this little "boost" they gave her will help. I certainly hope so. I'll be keeping her in my thoughts.

Stay well!
