Lemons

A nice big bowl of lemons. This is one of my favourite ingrediants when I bake

I'm more of a lime person myself - I almost always substitute one for the other if I can get away with it in a recipe.

My Carrot cake, blueberry muffins, lemon cupcakes, lemon meringue and luscious lemon cheesecake all have fresh lemon in them but my salsa has lime in it

have you ever put lime in salsa verde and used it on enchaladas or something? That is amazing.
but no. I'm a limade person. On the rare occasions I drink, it's margaritas or mojitos. Though, ironically, I don't care for key lime pie.
and now I'm hungry.

Now I do prefer lime in my drinks apart from lemon tea

ah. lemon tea. my second favourite, after peppermint.

Twinning tea manufacturers make a variety called Lady Grey which is the same as Earl Grey but with lemon and orange zest I add a couple teaspoons of lemon juice to it and its such a lovely refreshing drink.

I like Nestea & Lipton Iced Tea too we can get the Lipton ice tea in Lemon, Orange and Mango

it's bizzare, but I've only gone for herbal teas - i've tried earl grey and lady grey, but celesteal seasons makes this lovely peppermint tea and another called lemon zest that I realy love. though your way sound tastey. I'll have to try it sometime.

I didnt know Lady Grey was available over there but then again Twinings is an international company and its one of their signature teas.

Not fussed on the herbal teas they never seem to have much in flavour but I do like a beaker of hot green tea when I go to Wagamamas for the most delicious ginger chicken udon noodles I have ever tasted

ah, but i seep my tea for like 5+ minutes, so it's always really strong
twinnings is international. definately. I think celestial is one of their subsidiaries.

I have never had a proper Key Lime Pie only a faux version from a local supermarket that tasted more like a lemon cream pie. Got to find a good recipe for it

[identity profile] aadarshinah.livejournal.com 2012-07-18 07:55 pm (UTC)(link)
i've had real and grocery store versions, and never cared for either.

Lime is fantastic in my baked cheesecake its not quite as bitter and tangy as the lemon but a lot more subtle however when I make a citrus cheesecake I try to make the lime as a more predominant flavour in it

ah, cheescake. I miss cheesecake. and deserts. and chocolate. how i miss chocolate. stupid diets.
